Hey bub,
How are you? I truly hope youâre keeping well and had a good week. I had a pretty decent week myself. I got a great amount of work done, went to the gym, and started a new IP! I am super excited about that one! 𤍠(Youâll see it soon)
shh, only you know about it.
Whatâs on my mind?
Letting go and finding my place.đşď¸
SoâŚIâm in a very tricky place in my life. Lots of big changes, uncertainty, excitement as well as nervousness.
I can imagine that you might be feeling lost at this point in your life too.
Maybe you arenât happy at your job, or in your relationships (it could be any kind of relationship) and if that is chipping at you every single day, then itâs time. You need to analyze.
If something is stealing your peace, or stopping you from becoming your best self then itâs time to look at your life from a macro lens.
Ask yourself,
What is it thatâs bothering you & how can you quit it?
I learned something from Mel Robbins recently and she says, âItâs important to understand when to Quitâ. When to quit that relationship, when to quit that job, when to quit that friendshipâŚif you donât walk out of something at the right time you may be forcing something thatâs not intended for you.
Now itâs easier said than done, but you have to be able to choose what will add value to your life. You may have to go through some pain but at the end of it, you will know what was meant to be.
I believe itâs my season of waiting, and that is why Iâm not forcing anything into my life.
I want to practice leaving my fears to God, just letting go and allowing him to carry my burdens.
Bible verse of the week
Matthew 11: 28-30: Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
If youâre wondering about ParentingđŠâđ§
Hereâs a podcast recommendation for youđ
Dr. Becky Kennedy: Protocols for Excellent Parenting & Improving Relationships of all Kinds.Â
As a newly single mother, I gravitate towards podcasts and books that allow me to learn and gather new perspectives about parenting. It helps me cope better with my day-to-day challenges as a parentâ¨
My takeaways from this podcast:
Sturdy parenting - Setting boundaries and validating your children at the same time. Dr Becky truly guides you in ways you can achieve this successfully.
Building confidence in your children by saying the words âI believe youâ (GAME CHANGER)
In the words of Gabor MatĂŠ (another brilliant physician from whom I've learned so much), âTrauma is not what happens to you, itâs what happens inside youâ
Kids are born with all the emotions, but none of the skills to manage them and that is why they are SO expressive and overwhelmed sometimes - we think that they are just ânaughtyâ or âangryâ but thatâs not true. Your babies donât know how to manage those BIG emotions and itâs your job as a parent to understand what that means and help them navigate it.
A meal I enjoyed this weekđ
I try and step out once a week because I can be a homebody for a dangerously long time. This week, I went out with my best friend to this restaurant in Bombay called Bandra Bornđ
What we ordered:
Started with Crab Curry with Croissant. The curry reminded me of my Mangalore roots, loved the touch of the mini croissant slices.
Then we got this dip which was a blend of guacamole, hummus, and miso. I did not think I would like this but it grew on me and we ate the WHOLE thing!
Ended the night with a Vanilla cake with coffee and strawberry sorbet. I love a good plain vanilla cake, so enjoyed this too.
Weekly Findsđ
MoviesđĽ: Spaceman. Itâs a serious watch, great for a weekend dinner at home. It is very thought-provoking. I truly felt that this movie was an incredible piece of art. Donât worry, you will be able to understand the film, it just is open to interpretation in certain instances. If you end up watching it, reply to this newsletter, DM me on Instagram, or comment on the post and tell me what you think about it.
Snackđ: Jowar Puffs from Urban Platter. Fun fact - I love a punch of flavor in my meals but I like mildly seasoned snacks. I donât know why. This is super light, great ingredients and so yummy! I finished one whole jar and just restocked a fresh one.
Amazon Purchaseđď¸: A metal cardholder. It's way easier to see all my important cards at once, fits in all bag sizes, and looks VERY sleek and expensive.
Penny for your thoughtsđ
Leaving you with some questions to think about and journal about.
What is the one thing thatâs currently holding you back from being your BEST self?
What is it that you've wanted to quit but haven't found the courage to?
Thatâs all for this week, see you next Sunday!
