Hi Bub,
I just got back from a few days in Dubai, and wow, it was a breath of fresh air (quite literally - if you live in Mumbai, you’d know)
It got me thinking a lot about the quality of life we're living, you know?
There was this incredible day we spent at a park with farm animals. Seeing my daughter, Abigail’s face light up as she discovered all these creatures was priceless. It also brought out the child in me! My mum caught Abby and me both giggling and being incredibly present through these 5 days.
Another highlight was just basking in the sun, doing absolutely nothing with my mom and Abby. Just being. Watching her explore, and feeling the grass under her feet – made me realize how much just fresh air, sunlight, and vast spaces can do for you. 🌤️
If you’re wondering about happiness,
Here’s a podcast recommendation for you:
Arthur Brooks on Diary of a CEO with Steven Bartlett
My takeaways from this podcast:
Arrival Fallacy - The belief that attaining a particular goal will lead to long-term happiness. So, the most important thing to understand is that this belief is not grounded in reality.
Happiness is unattainable because it is a direction, not a destination.
A meal I enjoyed this week:
Relaxed Afternoon with my best friend at SoHo House in Mumbai!🌤️
What we ordered:
The Turkish mezze platter with hummus, roasted bell pepper dip, and eggplant dip. The HUMMUS was hummus-ing & if you grew up eating Lebanese you would know exactly what I mean.
Sweet potato fries and a mocktail version of a pina colada called healthy colada which is my go-to beverage there. 🍍
What’s on my mind?
The Pangs of Adulthood.
“Where do I want to live for the rest of my life?”
“How do I form newer meaningful relationships?”
“How do I break out of my daily routine?”
Bible verse of the week
I follow Christianity and often go back to a few verses from the bible. It’s been difficult remaining close to god, and this is my way of reminding myself and you to take a minute and think about the higher power that keeps you and your faith going every day.🤍
"Corinthians 5:7 For we live by faith, not by sight."
Penny for your thoughts:
Leaving you with a question to think and journal about.
"If you could rewind and start over, what's one choice you'd make differently?
That’s it from me!
Have a great week x
